Here are some guidelines to help make your visit to our properties a pleasurable experience. These
have been created to help you get the most out of your visit and to insure that our staff meets your expectations as well
as those of others who may be visiting at the same time. Please review these guidelines before your visit.
In order to visit Costa Rica, you need a valid passport with an expiration date of at least 90 days
after your date of arrival.
Book Early
Book your stay with us early so we can accommodate your visit. Our guest house visits are in high demand, especially
during winter months, weekends and holidays. Allow ample time in advance of your trip so that we have room available
to meet your needs.
At the Guest House
Your visit will allow ample time for you to see the local area and get plenty of information about the relaxed lifestyle, the
properties, our construction services and our community. Experience has shown that your stay will provide sufficient
opportunity to gather the information needed to make an informed decision on purchasing property.
All meals and
beverages are included in your stay with us. If you have special dietary requirements, please let us know prior to your
arrival and we will do our best to accommodate.
Children under 12
Although Costa Rica is a great place to bring children, visitors to our guest house must be at least 12 years of age. Since
other guests will be visiting concurrently to your visit, we want everyone to have a wonderful experience. We've found
that children under 12 require additional attention and are distracting to other visitors. Our guest house is not child safe,
we have a pool that is not monitored and railings that were not designed for small children. We can't assume liability nor
want to assume the stress of watching over small children. Touring our property can also be boring for children. To
make the trip rewarding for all of our visitors, our policy is therefore, no children under 12. We hope you understand
and appreciate this policy.
Travel expenses
If you are coming for the two-night Guest House visit, travel expenses, including your international flights, commuter flights and hotels other than your stay in our guest
house, are your responsibility. Since most visitors arrive in San Jose after the daily commuter flight to Palmar Sur has
departed, you will likely need to overnight in San Jose. We have arranged discount rates with two local hotels for your
convenience, a 3 star or a 5 star, depending on your preference. The cost varies from $65 for the 3 star to $120 for the 5
star. On your return home, the commuter flight typically connects to your international flights, therefor a hotel stay is
usually not required on your return to the US.
The commuter flight to Palmar Sur
The flight to our local airport leaves from San Jose International Airport daily at 9:30 am, for the short 45 minute flight
to Palmar Sur, where our driver will be waiting to pick you up. The flight is operated by Sansa Airlines. The flight offers
stunning views of the Cordillera Central Mountain range, part of the continental divide, as well as the breathtaking
Pacific coast. We recommend the flight as it provides a great opportunity to get a feel for the incredible beauty of the
country, while traveling efficiently along the southern Pacific coast. You'll get a good idea of the layout of the southern
region which will help in your assessment of the area. Round trip fares run about $150 and we'll book your commuter flight
for you since advanced ticketing is required. Your return trip to San Jose departs at 10:30 am, arriving at the
international airport in San Jose around 11:20 am for your connection back to the US.
Driving to Ojochal de Osa
Driving in a foreign country can be challenging, especially if this is your first trip to Costa Rica. All road signs are in
Spanish and some roads are poorly marked. The chances of you being delayed while driving due to language difficulties,
construction, weather, break downs, etc, as well as the added cost of renting a car, are far outweighed by the ease and
convenience of the commuter flight. Since we maintain a tight schedule, if you do decide to drive, we suggest you allow
extra time to insure you make it to our property on time. If this is your first visit to Costa Rica, we highly recommend
you take the commuter flight and leave all the ground transportation to us.
What to bring with you
Since you will likely stay one night in San Jose, which is cooler than our area, you may want a pair of jeans and a
sweater. For the time spent at our properties, you'll want comfortable clothes, nothing fancy. Bring a sturdy pair of
shoes and a pair of light weight long pants since you may be walking in tall grass and moderate terrain. Light weight
shorts, t-shirts or collared shirts are all you will need otherwise. You should also bring sunglasses and a hat and don't
forget a bathing suit. To avoid disappointment, be sure to also bring your check book. Lots available during your visit
may not be available by the time you return home. We can not reserve any lot without a deposit, which you may make
using a personal check.
Extending your trip to Costa Rica
If you would like to stay longer during your visit to Costa Rica, we recommend you start your visit with your trip to our
properties. We're happy to assist you in booking local hotels if you would like to stay longer in our area. We offer
discount rates to many local hotels, just ask. If you intend to tour other areas of Costa Rica while on this visit, we would
be happy to make recommendations of areas of interest and attractions catered to your requirements. We can also
suggest hotels, tours and itinerary to meet your budget and style of travel. Or you can join one of our ten-day escorted Costa Rica Discovery Tours.
Your health and safety
We advise travelers to take extra care while in San Jose. Do not walk the streets of San Jose at night and use taxis when
traveling after dark. San Jose is a big city and though violent crime is rare, petty theft and robberies can occur. Outside
of San Jose, crime is not a significant problem, although tourists should not leave valuables in vehicles left unattended.
Should you have any health related issues while in Costa Rica, there are numerous clinics, doctors and hospitals available
to treat you. Information is available in the phone book or ask at the desk of your hotel. The water supply throughout
Costa Rica is safe to drink and no immunization shots are required to visit.
Cancellation
If your plans change after they have been confirmed, let us know right away. Cancellation policies vary and need to be
confirmed, if needed. Once everything is confirmed, you will receive a welcome email with a complete description of your
itinerary from "Ventana Del Pacifico".
The Client Visit Application
To insure space is available in our guest house, be sure to send us your completed Client Visit Application prior to booking
your international flights. We'll get to work on your visit right away, confirm your stay, assist with your hotel
reservations in San Jose and make your commuter flight reservations. We'll confirm everything back to you just as
soon as your itinerary is complete. Follow this link to begin filling out the Client Visit Application now. We look forward
to your visit.
Summary
We offer a three-day, two-night all inclusive visit for two, including all local transportation, lodging, meals and
beverages (beer and wine included). You'll stay at our beautiful guest house with all meals prepared by our chef. The
fee charged is $500 per couple for the visit and payment can be made by cash, personal check, or credit card. To offset
the cost of your travel, our Buy and Fly Free program will credit you $1500 towards the purchase of any lot reserved on this trip (limit of one credit per visit). You are responsible for
your airfare to San Jose, the commuter flight to Palmar Sur, and the hotel stay in San Jose on the day you arrive in
Costa Rica. If you decide to extend your visit on either end of your trip to the guest house, that will also be at your own
expense.
We provide you with a price list of available lots upon arrival and let you be the judge of the value. No sales pitch or
presentation will be made at any time during your stay.
